Just heaven

There’s nothing more you could wish for. Our group of 5 friends had a fabulous week’s stay at Villa Adonis , hosted by the wonderful Irini. A huge space with plenty of choice for where to relax so you can have peace and quiet even in a large group. The villa’s elevated position made the most of the beautiful views and yet was only a brief walk to the bus stop and then on to the beach and harbour with a few restaurants and a chilled out but super friendly cafe bar. We hired a boat which provided us with a day we won’t forget. Plenty of choice for where to dock the boat for lunch or a secluded swim. We ate at the white house where the Durrell’s actually lived. Serene settings under the shade of olive trees. From sea we could easily pick out “our villa” and pool terrace as it stands prominently amongst the green landscape. The pool is huge so if you like some aquatic exercise or a lounge on the lilo , all can be done without getting in each other’s way. The views across to the Albanian coast are quietly stunning. Such amazing scenery from the shower window, what a treat. I couldn’t wait to break open the shutters to be greeted by those views each morning. Thank you you Irini and Dora , for your help and kindness. And the thoughtful and delicious celebration cake you gave us. We made great memories at your beautiful villa.

Fantastic accommodation and hosts!

We travelled out as a group of 8 for 2 weeks and were joined by 4 more for a week. We arrived late and Eirini & Dora arranged a minibus to pick us up with all our luggage. We were greeted by a welcome pack of provisions of all essentials and more which was much appreciated. When we woke to explore, we were amazed at the location. The website pictures are good, but it's even better. With our additional guests we made use of the annexe. With such a big party, we had already taken over the use of their fridge which was mainly full of water and soft drinks.
The villa has retained it's traditional feel and is set in the hillside along with other villas, but plenty of room in between. There is a small hotel at the end of the road which had music outside one night maybe for a party, but the area is very peaceful.
A boat trip is a must. We had 2 boats with no licence required. A short lesson and the boat is yours from 9am to 6pm. You can travel up as far as Kassiopi and down to Dassia. Some of the bays are not accessible by road so you can drop anchor and swim/snorkel to your hearts content. Stop off at the caves and a taverna or two. We did run into a little trouble when we couldn't retrieve the anchor as it was stuck under rocks. With a phone call and short wait, the owner came out on a speed boat and dived down to free it. Then we were on our way again to enjoy the rest of the day.
You don't need a car as there is a bus stop at the end of the road. We were so many and wanted to do different things so we hired 2. Unfortunately as it was so hot, we didn't do as much getting around as we hoped. We absolutely needed them for shopping! A trip to Corfu Town is a must and with so many other bays you may want to explore. As it was the height of season the roads were very busy and with few pavements, you really have to be careful with the abundance of pedestrians who just wander out into the road. There are also lots of mopeds and quad bikes. We imagine much less busy outside of July/August. Some of our party used the bus and paid only 2 euros 20cents for the 45 minute journey to Corfu Town. They recommended Ninos for a place to eat, so we headed there on our day and it is the most traditional and fabulous little place. It's situated down one of the little alleyways that make up the town and is very small. As cooking and eating take place in the same area, it was very warm, but again outside of high season, would be very comfortable. THE best traditional food served up. Only wish we could have tried everything!
All bedrooms are a good size and only the 2 rooms in the annexe shared a bathroom. The views are stunning and such a joy to wake up to. The outside space is truly excellent with a variety of places to sit. We mostly gathered on the covered terrace and made use of the great BBQ and seating area with such a beautiful view. Although the upstairs terrace was much cooler and watching the moon rise was lovely. The pool are is exceptional. It's a great size, plenty of room to spread out and plenty of shade. The cabana is ideally situated for the first place to go into the shade and views.
Whilst were were there, we were celebrating a special birthday and Eirini and Dora arranged the most fantastic cake and 2 bottles of fizz. They were in on the surprise of the arrival of the additional 4 people and hid the cake in the downstairs fridge. Everybody said how great the cake was.
A short walk of 5 minutes brings you to the nearest taverna (Dora's) which is pleasant and a small supermarket on the way to the beach. The bay is beautiful and goo for snorkelling. Take some bread to crumble underwater and float around watching the show. Bearing in mind it's the height of season, as it's such a small bay (around 30 loungers) you'll need to get down there by about 9.30am to find a space with your own towel or get a sunbed. There is a taverna, cafe and bar there. The iced coffee in Mary's Lab is excellent as she uses a little cream in it! Almyra bar is a very relaxed setting for breakfast, snacks and cocktails with lots of photo spots with the love seat, boat seat, hammock and swing. Their french fries were a popular feast during our stay due to their unusual shape (proper potatoes) and being sprinkled with seasonings.
We also tried Vitamins restaurant which was great food and service (particularly as one of our party has a severe allergy and they were checking in with ingredients), Roumeli was also very good food and the owner was very friendly and caring to ensure we had a good experience. Both places reasonably priced. On our last night we booked the Agni Taverna with the return water taxi which was a bit of a treat for us. The setting is amazing. Some food was good, some dishes quite salty and for us, quite expensive. For 8 of us, most had 3 courses with beer and wine (including 7 euro water taxi each) it cost 550 euros!
In the villa is a guide book/folder to help with things. Eirini & Dora really were the best hosts. Their mum popped in most days to tend the garden which has beautiful flowers, olive and lemon trees and she has a vegetable patch. Very hard work in these temperatures. They made us feel very welcome, helped when we had some damage to one of the cars by arranging collection and replacement and gave the best tips on where to go for sightseeing, restaurants and shopping. Unfortunately we couldn't fit it all in, so will just have to go back!
Eirini/Dora, we loved your villa and your island and had the happiest time making memories there. Thank you so much for your hospitality.

Villa Andonis

Just returned from a weeks stay at Villa Andonis for nine. It’s everything you could wish for, from its spacious grounds and beautiful gardens, the large pool with plenty of sun beds for everyone, fantastic views across to Albania and along the coast, great outdoor eating area for those long lazy meals and the terrace for evening drinks. Five spacious bedrooms with en-suites, what more could you ask for. The moment you meet Eirini and Dora with their warm Greek welcome puts you at ease and will help you with any questions you might have. We hired a private chef to cook a meal for my daughter surprise birthday at the Villa and Eirini and Dora suppled a cake and champagne free of charge which was very sweet of them.
Villa Andonis will last long in our memories and we hope to return one day.

11 of us stayed at this fantastic villa owned by the lovely sisters Irini and Dora, who are extremely helpful. We were there celebrating my 50th birthday and the holiday was booked last year. Our party was a mix of teenagers and adults and we all found it very spacious and had all we needed. The pool is large with wonderful views. The outdoor dining area was perfect for all our meals. We didn't hire a car, and didn't miss it. Two local supermarkets (Aphrodite and Katerina's) delivered food and drinks we ordered by phone.
The beach was an easy 10 min walk, and is delightful, with a restaurant and a cocktail bar and the local harbour. I would also recommend visiting Nicolas restaurant a water taxi ride away, for a lovely evening dinner.
If you're looking for a special day out on a boat then www.dailycruisescorfu.com are my recommendation. Couldn't have had a better day, swimming, snorkelling and eating a delicious bbq lunch on the beautiful boat.
Nissaki is a pretty area, with some lovely restaurants, and a perfect spot to unwind. If you have a smaller party Irini and Dora will have a villa to suit you too.

Fabulous villa with beautiful views

Firstly, I have to say that Eirini and Dora are fabulous hosts! So friendly and welcoming.
The villa itself is great. Immaculately clean and comfortable. I actually don't think the photos do the place justice! The beds are comfortable and most of the bedrooms are ensuite which is perfect. The views from the villa are to die for and we spent many a night having a glass of wine on one of the various balconies and watching the sun set.
The pool area is enormous and can easily cope with 10 or so people around it... in fact it is bigger than the hotel pool you can see down the hill!
The location is also great. You don't necessarily need a car (we didn't) as there are a couple of supermarkets within 5 mins with a beach and selection of bars and restaurants a close walk away. The bus stop is also at the end of the road which is fairly regular too and corfu-taxis are fairly reasonable if you book in advance.

Simply outstanding

Wonderful owners Irini and Dora ensured we had everything we needed at this wonderful villa. The accommodation is spacious, immaculately clean and the large pool superb. We decided against car hire and enjoyed Nissaki which is small but beautifully authentic. Swimming in the bay at dawn and watching the sunrise is a must! We rented boats for the day (Fontas) and spent a day touring North coast and snorkelling. Can not recommend highly enough and we were allowed to stay until 7pm on departure day. We will be returning soon.

Fantastic villa

We loved this villa: lovely big pool with loads of sun beds, excellent shaded patio with a huge table and barbecue and table tennis table, five very comfortable bedrooms each with its own bathroom, well-equipped kitchen- and fantastic views over the sea to the Albanian mountains. The location is great: very private and quiet. Good little supermarket and a taverna a five-minute walk away. Five minutes further on is Nissaki beach (small and pebbles), two good restaurants and a little harbour from where we rented a boat. Ireni and Dora, the owners, are wonderful and helpful. We were there for my 70th birthday and they brought round a huge, very delicious cake with candles. So kind. One would be hard-pushed to find a better villa.

Beautiful rustic villa with huge pool

My family and I have just returned from a week stay in this charming villa. There were six adults and four children ages ranging from 14 to 8 years. It’s a large villa inside and outside. The views are beautiful as are the surrounding areas. We had lots of fun in the large pool and several barbecues around the huge table. Buses are easy assessable to Corfu town etc. A must is to hire a boat and go to Kassiopi for lunch and stop off at the small bays for a swim on the way back. Irini and Dora are lovely ladies who will help with anything. They allowed us to stay in the villa on our departure day all day as no one was booked in until the following day. A massive thankyou Irini and Dora for our special family holiday. xx

Wonderful villa, friendly, welcoming people

The villa is truly amazing and the views are immense. I went for two weeks with my daughters family and partners, eight of us in total but the villa is set out in such a way that you can either all be together or find your own space somewhere. The pool and villa were maintained on a regular basis to a high standard and I would highly recommend it. Lots of lovely tavernas within walking distance and a small local beach, with other beaches a short bus ride away. Our age ranges were from 23 to 68 and we all had the most wonderful holiday.

Dear Carol Thank you so much for such nice words for us and our villa and relly will be our pleasure to hosted again. Best wishes to you and to all your nice family. Eirini and Dora

Beautiful, spacious, well equipped villa

Well all can say is WOW! We stayed for 10 days, 2 families and mums. Irini and Dora are such lovely people, couldn't do enough for us. Came on the morning after we arrived and advised us where the best places are to eat, beaches and supermarkets etc. Villa is absolutely gorgeous, well equipped, quiet and very spacious, well placed for tavernas, you don't actually need a car as there is a bus stop just down the road. The pool is amazing, kids (and adults) loved it. There is a little supermarket 5 minutes walk away and a beach/harbour just a little further. The views from the villa are absolutely stunning. Would highly recommend this villa and we will definitely be returning. The Bower, Gunn and Miller families.
